Final Project Proposal

My final project will be based on a project I have seen on the ABC show "i-Caught." My students and I are finishing up our unit on poetry. As part of a greater poetry anthology project, I have asked each student to come up with three words that describe themselves. They then need to either write those three words on their hand or on another creative medium and I will film them displaying their message. I will then take that raw footage, edit and add music. That in and of itself should be pretty powerful, but I will also add in Photostory, pictures of us working on the project and other candid pictures we have taken over the course of the year. The Photostory portion could be ongoing with each large project our team does and could easily be added as part of the podcast.
The classes are already excited to do this project and have written their three word poems and picked music to go with the movie. They are a major part of the project and are and active rather than passive subjects. I could use this project I number of different ways. First, as a reward for all the hard work the students did during the poetry unit they are able to have a tangible record of what they have put together as a team. Secondly, it is a great project to display and have playing during spring conferences. Lastly, our school has an honors assembly every semester and this project could easily be displayed with the program and is a fun "bragging rights" piece for and from our team. I hope you approve this project, I have a tutor lined up to help me get the video to Adobe, the footage is being shot this week and the students are so excited to see the end results.
